Stay Positive

Hey everyone, I hope you are all well!

Yesterday I had a proper realisation of finishing University, missing my housemates, had I made the right decision with my course? Is what I'm planning in the future what I really want? And so on.. So as a Pinterest fan, I took to Pinterest searching for positivity, which made me feel a lot happier! Realising that I could actually relate to a lot of quotations I decided to create one (using a background photo I took in Spain last week! haha). So if any of you are feeling down or blue, maybe have a read of this:

It's so true that some of the best days of our lives may not have happened yet! You always hear that Uni and School are the best days of your life, but what about after? Personally, yes Uni did have some amazing times, but it also had really stressful times too, and I feel this often gets masked. I think it is important to remember good times, but also never forget that something amazing may happen in the future :)

Stay positive!

Update

Hey everyone!

I just thought I would write a quick update! This week I am actually on holiday so I've decided to write this before my flight. I'm not leaving or neglecting my blog, just on holiday! I will be back to my normal blog posting self next week :)

I hope you all have a lovely week! Link me to your holiday blog posts below! I'd love to see where you've been/outfits/what's in your suitcase etc. :)

Meeting Mickey Mouse at Disneyland Resort Paris

I've been told on numerous occasions to check the character Meet & Greet times from the programme handed to you in City Hall, but still I forgot to check these and the only time I met characters was by coincidence! So if you want to meet characters please remember to check the programme!!

My sister +Rachael Lily and I spent one of our day's in the Walt Disney Studios Park and this is where we met Mickey Mouse!  We were just wandering around after lunch and spotted Mickey just after the Crush's Coaster ride, infront of the "Toon Town" backdrop. It was a bit strange because there was only one family around him and normally if there's a character everyone rushes to them! Anyway we made a beeline straight for him! Determined on getting a photo before other people noticed his presence haha! So here is our selfie with Mickey:

My sister and I with Mickey

When meeting Mickey I suggest to:
* Bring your autograph book!
* A chunky pen for him to hold
* Bring your camera! *fromage!*
* Prepare for queuing of up to an hour (this was the case for Minnie Mouse!)
* Be respectful of others and let younger children in before you haha!

We were lucky enough to meet Ariel, Russell (from Up!), Buzz and Minnie too.  It is important to note that if you want to meet a Princess you have to reserve a slot (slots open at 10.30am to 12pm) in a location between the Princess Pavillion and The Old Mill, and then return to the Princess Pavillion at the allocated time.  We actually didn't realise that this was the whole Princess procedure so turned up at the slots at about half past 11.  Luckily this meant we didn't really have to queue in the reservations queue, but it's risky leaving it until later as the slots are subject to availability.  We still did about 15 minutes of queuing even though we arrived at the beginning of our slot, so be warned haha! My sister and I actually decided the next day that we wanted to meet another Princess, so headed to reservations for their half 10 opening, and the queue was so big we didn't bother in the end!

Comment me a link to your Disney photos on your blog if you have them! I'd love to see what else people got up to! :D

The Best View of The Eiffel Tower

Hey everyone! I hope you are well :)

I have recently just come back from Paris and I thought I would share where, in my opinion, the best view of the Eiffel Tower is.  Okay so everyone wants a photo where you can get a great view of the Eiffel Tower, and not have to crop people out of the shot to get all of the Tower in.  I saw a few tourists head to the base of the tower and try and take a shot from the ground to get a bit of someone in, and the tower!

Now if you want a shot like this:

Head to the Palais de Chaillot. If you follow the main gardens (Champ de Mars) to the base of the Tower, cross under the Tower, over the bridge in a straight line you end up at the base of a hill.  Keep heading in the same direction up the hill and up steps until you end up at the view point of Palais de Chaillot.  Here there are fewer crowds and the view is stunning!

Below is a tourist map I found on Google, and I have circled and pointed out the location of Palais de Chaillot:

I hope this can help someone!

Ooh La Laa..

Exciting things happening next week! I'm so excited! I've made a Paris Bucket-List :) What would you add to your Parisian Bucket-List?

Expect some related blog posts soon!! I'm planning on trying macarons.. Can anybody describe what they actually taste like?! Haha

The Wanderlust Tag

Hey everyone!

Today I will be doing the Wanderlust Tag, and you can get to know some of my travelling loves and wishes! I was tagged by the lovely Jessica Casillas :) here is her take on the tag: http://jesscasillasx.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/wanderlust-tag.html

1. Your most treasured passport stamp?
Italy is my favourite country in the world! So to narrow it down I'd say Sorrento, or anywhere along the Amalfi Coast.  The views here are absolutely breathtaking and magical. I went with my family and also returned when I went on a school trip and I have a lot of great memories here.

2. Can you recite your passport # from memory if asked?
No! Haha, I was looking at it the other day and couldn't even begin to tell you what it even started with!

3. Preferred method of travel: Planes/Trains/Automobiles?
I think I would say Trains.  I've occasionally got first class on the train and it makes a huge difference! I love being able to just relax and look at the world pass by too.  However the problem with trains is that there doesn't seem to be a limit of the amount of people that get on and when it's really busy it makes me stressed.

When I was in Rome I was on the busiest metro train and it was absolutely horrible:

Also I often feel a bit claustrophobic on long-haul flights, and travel-sick in the car! haha

4. Top three travel items:
    1. A book
    2. Make-up Bag
    3. iPad

5. Hostel or Hotel?
I've never stayed in a hostel before, so hotel! It's nice to come back to a clean tidy room at the end of each day when you're travelling.

6. Are you a repeat visitor or do you explore new places?
If I fall in love with a city I will definitely return (such as London, Rome and Paris), but normally I am so up for venturing to new shores!

7. Do you read up on your destination (culture, history, safety) or do you wing it?
I have to read up about it way in advance! Tbh it gets me more excited to go! If you are planning on leaving the continent then I would make sure to research any religious beliefs (covering shoulders), customs and travellers top tips to make it a more enjoyable visit.

8. Favourite travel website?
TripAdvisor. I am addicted to checking it and seeing what other people are saying! It is great to read up about the hotel you're staying at, or any deals on at the local waterpark etc.

9. Where would you recommend a friend to visit? Name a city and why?
Paris! Amazing history. Fantastic food. Stunning art and buildings. Shopping! Disney!! The Eiffel Tower. Love hearing the French language all around (it just sounds so pretty!) And you can get on the train from London St Pancras - so it's easy to get there :D

I last went in 2012, and I am returning next week!

Paris 2005

10. You're leaving tomorrow, money is no option. Where would you go?
I've never explored Australasia or Asia, so I would do some touring! Also if money is no object I would do it in style ; travelling first class, staying at some amazing hotels and taking part in everything (maybe even bungee jumping?! nah maybe not! but definitely diving and safari-ing and so on..)

Thank you for reading my Wanderlust Tag :) I nominate anybody who has read it and fancies a go themselves and:

The Lake District

Hey everyone!

I thought I would just update everyone as to why I haven't been blogging much recently.  Last week I went to the Lake District with my family and used this as some chilled time after three huge exams the previous week.  It is so beautiful there, has anyone been?! We stayed in a gorgeous little town called Keswick, the views were breath-taking!

Here is a little collage I made of when my dad and my sister went on an evening walk around Derwent Water:

The lack of internet and phone signal was annoying at first but a bit of a blessing in disguise! I loved having a bit of calm away from the internet world :)  Keswick is gorgeous to amble around too, have a look at this quaint cafe called The Wild Strawberry:

So cute! We also went on a few walks, and the names of all the places are like Harry Potter names! My favourite named walk was a hill called Cat Bells! Here is a little selfie my sister and I took of us at the start:

I actually did these fishtail plaits myself! haha :) I currently have one more exam to go!! It's tomorrow :'( and I'm procrastinating! Hope you all had a lovely half-term holiday :)
